At the library, we understand that change brings uncertantiy, questions and adds to life's stress level. So we hope that you, our patrons, will be understanding with us as we "breakup" with our old catalog software and database and try to learn an entirely new software. While we do this, things will be a little slower at the desk, as the staff will be learning how to do their jobs all over again. We ask that you be patient with us, as in the long run, this new software will help us serve you even better!
You will find that there are improvements in IPAC -now called the Information Portal. There will be options to search by individual libraries, for only those items that are checked in as well as many other improvements and additions to the catalog. The look will be somewhat different, but all in all, this is a good change.
In addition to that change - we are also working though some staff changes. Ms. Wendy, our beloved children's librarian, has taken a position at the Mifflin Community Library. We wish her all the best - but will miss her very much! Her last day will be March 30. We are searching for a new Youth Services Manager as well as a new Library Aide. Descriptions of the requirements and job qualifications can be found on our website. Just click on the link that says "Jobs."
But some things never change. We invite you to join us for all the wonderful programing, to check out all the new materials and to stop in for help finding that one piece of information that seems to elude you. We are your public library, and that will not change!
